Optimal Evaluation of the Rheological Parameters for STF Dampers in Semi-Rigid Joints of Steel Structures Using Response Surface Method

This work deals with the multiobjective optimization of rheolohical parameters on a novel designed flexible joints using shear thickening fluid dampers (STFD) steel structures. The proposed damper consists (STF) combination nano-silica and PEG (400) sonicated to achieve colloidal dispersion nanoparticles. Series cyclic loading were imposed frames equipped STF assess their impacts T-steel frames. stiffener end plate is bolted over corner that are subjected bending moment. multi-objective response surface method rheological for was studied in order reduce dynamic forces moments produced semi-rigid joint Results from analysis used obtain correlations between variables input factors (effective stiffness 449.89 N/mm, complex viscosity 98.69 Pa.s, damping constant 446.99 N.s/mm) damped joints.
